A promising way to fight homelessness

We try. We fail. We try again.

 

And every now and then, we Americans succeed. We wrestle with a seemingly intractable social problem, and lo and behold, the trend lines start to get better rather than worse.

Chronic homelessness may be about to be added to this list. For the first time in decades, the numbers of long-term homeless people are down, city after city is reporting. That's news everywhere, but especially in Grand Forks, where Mayor Mike Brown wants to give the program that's bringing about those results a try.
